Subject:Open Space Winter Evening Hours Of Use
This message is from an External Source. Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond.
Dear City Council,
I support the use of Cerro San Luis during the dark evening hours in winter. As someone who works an office job during
the day it is important to me to be able to use some of our open space after work for exercise and mental health.
Allowing use of a portion of our open space is equitable to those who do not have the option to use it during daylight
hours in the winter months.
I would prefer the discontinuation of the permit program and enforcement. Requiring trail users to obtain a permit
through an on-line reservation system is not equitable to those who do not have access to the internet. Discontinuing
permits and enforcement would save on cost. Unless there are known major recurring issues with evening use, reverting
back to a complaint driven enforcement policy would be a way to simplify this program and save money.
However, if it comes to no use at all or the continuation of the permit program as the only means to access CSL after
dark, I would have to opt for the continuation of the permit program.
I have many fond memories of evening hiking and biking on Cerro San Luis and I hope to have many more.
Thank you for your consideration,
Miles Gary
