Mayor Stewart and Council Members,
I am urging you to return to the wise decision of forbidding recreational activities after sunset on San Luis Mountain and
on all nature and wildlife preserves (open space).
Either you believe in protecting Mother Nature, and you do everything you can to help her— which means protecting
fauna and flora, especially at night when animals come alive, or you think the fun sought by a few is worth the
destruction of that same fauna and flora. It is hypocritical for anybody to claim they care for our environment while at
the same time putting in place regulations that will destroy it.
Personally I don’t see any difference between bikers who scream for their right to have fun at the expense of wildlife,
and anti vaxxers who scream for their right to wear no masks at the expense of the rest of us. Both are selfish people
incapable of looking beyond their own interests.
Your vote on this crucial issue will clearly show where you stand when it comes to the protection of our environment.
Sincerely,
Odile Ayral
