Dear Mayor and Council ,
We are writing this to ask that you not add additional night use hours during winter for recreation. We live adjacent to
the mountain and have noticed less wildlife since mountain use has been increasing dramatically over the last few years
and our neighbors have also been noticing. On the shortest day of the year in December people still have 11 hours of
daylight to use it. That is way more than generous!
At night we see the mountain bikers entering and exiting through the top of Serrano Dr. We also notice that there are
many strings of very bright fast moving lights and hear the loud yelling as they speed down the slopes. This is especially
terrifying for nocturnal animals who need this time to forage and survive. Needless to say fire danger is very worrisome
and real.
Please think of the wildlife and their habitat. Thank you.
