Winter Evening Hours Of Use At Cerro San Luis Natural Reserve
Dear Honorable Mayor Stewart & Council Members -
Since I sent in a previous letter on this matter, I will not repeat what I already submitted.
I remain against the “Resolution of the City Council of the City of San Luis Obispo, California, adopting a
Negative Declaration for Winter Evening Hours of Use at Cerro San Luis Natural Reserve.”
Originally, I did not support this proposal out of concern for the safety of hikers, bikers, and the flora and fauna.
After several conversations with residents, as Vice-Chair of the Santa Lucia Chapter of the Sierra Club, I also
think that a “no” vote on this declaration would demonstrate respect for the Native American/ indigenous
people.
Please do not approve these extended hours for hikers. Please ban or limit the use of mountain biking on
these same trails. Please increase signage on the trail, at the trailhead, and at the parking lot to provide for the
safety of constituents in the years to come.
Thank you for your consideration and your respect for the environment and past and current residents.
Sincerely,
Mila Vujovich-La Barre
