To: Laila Heid,
The City of San Luis Obispo (“City”) received your request pursuant to the California Public Records
Act delivered via email on December 17, 2021. The City has no responsive records for your request
but staff has supplied the following comments concerning your needs:
How many of your customers have received a water shutoff notice on or after March 4, 2020?
On March 11, 2020 we mailed out shutoff notices to 368 customers as part of our regular monthly
notifications. On April 2, 2020 Governor Newsom signed the Executive order to suspend all water shutoffs
for non-payment. The 368 shutoff notices were nullified and no water was shutoff for non-payment for
any customers who received that notification. No further water shutoff notices have been mailed since that
time and the moratorium on shutoffs is still in effect today.
How many notices sent on or after March 4, 2020 are still in effect?
Zero: No notices have been sent on or after March 4, 2020.
Please be advised that every effort has been made to search for all of the records which might fall
within the scope of your records request, and, as such, we believe our search is quite thorough.
However, if you have knowledge of a specific document which has not been provided in response to
your request, please notify us and we will be happy to provide the document(s) to you unless, of
course, it is exempt from disclosure pursuant to Government Code 6254.
