City Council:
I have recently become aware of SLO REP’s request for a grant to facilitate the purchase of an additional property to
augment their current playhouse. My family and I have attended SLO REP’s presentations for many years and I have
found them to be both entertaining and certainly adding to the ambiance of the SLO lifestyle.
In fact, I have been looking forward to enrolling my 13 year old granddaughter into the ACT Children’s Program. She
moved here from Tucson, AZ this past year and her world has blossomed with the many opportunities that abound in
our area. She’s an excellent student and I hopefully envisioned her further SLO growth by participating in the ACT
Children’s Program this summer.
I understand that with this grant, they will fulfill a need for greater rehearsal space with two additional theaters along
with much needed square footage for costume and scene storage. Also, with the current run-away inflation, time is of
essence. I implore the Council to immediately approve the SLO REP’s grant request and honor their long held tradition
of promoting our SLO entertainment community to blossom.
