Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear City Council: On behalf of my husband and I, I am writing in support of SLO REP’s challenge grant request. We moved to SLO from the Los Angeles area last year and began to explore the artistic, educational, and community involvement opportunities in our new home. We have attended theater performances in every city from San Diego to San Francisco and around the world. We attended two SLO REP shows that were open during the pandemic and were delighted to find the remarkable talent and quality of performance right here. From our point of view, theater is a core component of a thriving community and a destination for travelers. I understand that this will be a true public private partnership. Nearly three-fourths of the project will be paid for by the private sector to construct the theater complex, which will be owned by the city and available to the community for generations to come. SLO is so fortunate to have the best regional theater on the Central Coast which can only thrive and expand in its mission and work for years to come with your support. SLO REP can strengthen community-life, provide education programs for youth, and support a vibrant downtown art scene. My husband and I are encouraging you to approve SLO REP’s challenge grant. We thank the council for its consideration of this effort. Elizabeth Stanley-Salazar and John F. Salazar 14 Villa Court, San Luis Obispo 93401 Sent from Mail for Windows 1
