As an avid theater goer and supporter of SLO Rep I want to provide my personal endorsement of SLO City Council's
support of the challenge grant being considered at the February 15 City Council Meeting.
As one who recruits highly educated, highly trained employees to head of household jobs to our City, intangible assets
such as SLO Rep, the Performing Arts Center, SLO Symphony and our highly rated school system, have often proven to
be the tipping point for a successful relocation to our community. In my experience, many are taken by the charm of the
area but when it comes to deciding whether to relocate and raise a family in San Luis Obispo, many, particularly those
relocating from a major metropolitan area, express concern that we might be a cultural wasteland. Not so, I'm able to point
out, and can cite the existence of organizations like SLO Rep which assists immensely in selling our area to prospective
employees.
SLO Rep is a proven entity with solid leadership, strong finances and outstanding community support. I urge our City
Council to continue its generous support at tomorrow's meeting.
Cordially,
Ron Yukelson
