As part of this study, I am requesting that the trees on city owned lot 56 (blanket drainage easement) and trees on city owned right-of-way east of Spanish Oaks and Orcutt Road intersection be included in the Urban Forest Inventory. As part of the city goals of pruning and maintaining trees, it is important to include these two areas for inventory. As a new board member of the Islay Hill Owners Association, I have placed water conservation and landscaping inventory as agenda items this year. In the past there has not been clear agreement of what is city owned and what is belonging to the association. Matt LaFreniere from city planning pulled parcel maps (see attached) for your reference. As you can see from the photos, city owned lot 56 is almost entirely choked with willows and dead vegetation. This area needs to be cleared as it presents fire hazard and reduced visibility at the intersection. Please forward to our Tree Committee as well. Dear Tree Committee Members, As a new member of the Islay Hill Owners Association board of directors, I have been tasked with reviewing our irrigation systems and landscaping priorities. It seems the irrigation lines are abandoned along Orcutt Road. It needs to be determined if any of the lines on lot 56 are still functioning and if needed at all anymore. An arborist could be of assistance in assessing watering needs if any. A second priority is increased visibility for the neighbors pulling out into Orcutt Road traffic from Spanish Oaks. See photos attached. There has always been some confusion about who owns what at this intersection. After visiting with Matt LaFreniere at city planning, I have identified city owned property and trees adjacent to our Islay Hills Owners Association properties. (see attached maps). What steps need to be taken so that these two areas of city owned trees can be trimmed, cleared and cleaned?
