Dear ATC,
I'm writing to express my support for the proposed improvements to South Higuera. It's very exciting to see so many
design elements that safe streets advocates have been asking for. I encourage the ATC to recommend using quick builds
now and pursuing more permanent improvements in the future in order to get better infrastructure soon. I do wish to
see protected bike lanes throughout the entire corridor but am concerned about the need to perform tree removals. I
believe that narrower vehicular lanes and/or vehicular lane reductions to make space for people who bike & walk would
be preferable than tree removals.
Regarding the narrow protected bike lanes, I encourage the committed to consider that we are building infrastructure
for everyone, young & old, not just confident riders who may be annoyed by not being able to pass slower riders.
