Good Morning Council and Staff,
Thank you for taking my comments into consideration. After waiting 3 hours to speak last night I went promptly to bed
and so I didn't see the outcome of the meeting. Our leadership team is looking forward to the next steps in getting this
policy right.
I know you are inundated with things to read, however, indulge me for a minute.
The Affordable City by Shane Philips
This book is a brief field guide, organized by topic and subtopic, that is easy to read and written in non-planner language.
I highly, highly recommend it to decision makers.
A little about the author: "Shane Phillips is an urban planner and policy expert based in Los Angeles. He is
currently managing the UCLA Lewis Center Housing Initiative and teaching public policy as an adjunct
instructor at the University of Southern California. Phillips previously worked as the Director of Public Policy for
Central City Association, a Downtown LA advocacy organization."
