CALL TO ORDER A Closed Session of the San Luis Obispo City Council was called to order on February 7, 2022 at 5:15 p.m. by Mayor Stewart, with all Members present via teleconference. 2. PUBLIC COMMENT ON CLOSED SESSION ITEMS ONLY Public Comment: Joe Benson --End of Public Comment-- 3. CLOSED SESSION ITEMS 3.a CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATORS Pursuant to Government Code § 54957.6 ACTION: City Attorney Christine Dietrick reported that bargaining direction was provided, and no reportable action was taken. 3.b CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL – EXISTING LITIGATION Paragraph (1) of subdivision (d) of Government Code §54956.9; Name of case: Pamela Langley, Renee Askew, Aaron Stinnet, Edward Marquez, Christina Malmen, individuals; and Hope’s Village of SLO, a non-profit corporation v. City of San Luis Obispo, a municipality; and DOES 1 to 10, inclusive; United Stated District Court Central District of California Case No. 2:21-cv-07479 ACTION: City Attorney Christine Dietrick reported no reportable action was taken. 2 3.c CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL - ANTICIPATED LITIGATION Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to paragraph (2) of subdivision (d) of Section 54956.9. No. of potential cases: One. (CVRA) ACTION: City Attorney Christine Dietrick reported no reportable action was taken. 3.d CONFERENCE WITH REAL PROPERTY NEGOTIATORS Pursuant to Government Code §54956.8 Property: APN 002-435-023 ACTION: City Attorney Christine Dietrick reported Council provided direction on price and terms of purchase and no other reportable action was taken.. 3.e CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL – EXISTING LITIGATION ACTION: City Attorney Christine Dietrick reported that on a Motion by Vice Mayor Christianson, Second by Council Member Marx, and a vote of 5-0, the Council authorized defense of the action and retention of outside legal counsel with authorization for the City Manager to approve the contract, subject to approval of the City Attorney. 4. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 7:57 p.m. The next Regular City Council Meeting is scheduled for February 15, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. via teleconference. APPROVED BY COUNCIL: 03/01/2022
