I am writing to urge you to install a pedestrian hybrid beacon at the intersection of South and king streets. The
proposed solution of a painted crosswalk with flashing lights is not a safe enough alternative where children are crossing
to get to Hawthorne Elementary School. A PHB requires cars to stop giving pedestrians a true right of way whereas the
flashing crosswalk may be giving pedestrians a false sense of security. The solution for this intersection has been a long
time in the making; let's make it the safest solution we can.
