Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear Governing Board, Please reconsider the plans for the crossing of South St at King. Many children and adults cross here from Meadow Park either to get to and from the park or in my case to walk my Grandchildren to Hawthorne Elementary and/or to pick them up and walk them home in the afternoon. Very few cars go the 35mph speed limit and even fewer stop when they see me there waiting with my grandchildren to cross the street. We have had to run to the center divide and then stop again and run the rest of the way. I always make them hold my hands and I always say a prayer than none of us trip and fall. I would say there is only a 20% chance of a car stopping when seeing us walking across. No one stops when they see us waiting. I pray there is not a serious pedestrian accident. I do not feel safe at all in letting my grandchildren try and cross the street on their own. I beg you to consider putting a pedestrian hybrid beacon at the crossing of King and South Street. It would be money well spent. Thank you for your consideration Sheila Cochran 1
