HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-24-2022 ATC Minutes Minutes – Active Transportation Committee Meeting of February 24, 2022 Page 1 Minutes ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE Thursday, February 24, 2022 Special Meeting of the Active Transportation Committee CALL TO ORDER A Special Meeting of the San Luis Obispo Active Transportation Committee was called to order on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. via teleconference, by Chair Mills. ROLL CALL Present: Committee Members Donette Dunaway, Timothy Jouet, Briana Martenies (vice- chair), Russell Mills (chair), Jonathan Roberts, and Nathan Stong Absent: None Staff: Adam Fukushima, Jennifer Rice, Luke Schwartz, and Lareina Gamboa PUBLIC COMMENT ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA None. --End of Public Comment-- BUSINESS ITEMS 1. 2022 Paving Plan Transportation Planning Engineer Jennifer Rice provided a presentation and responded to Committee inquiries. Public Comment Jen Caffee Garrett Otto Kevin Christian Myron Amerine Kim Bisheff Fred Starbuck Steve Klisch --End of Public Comment-- (Committee Member Briana Martenies recused herself at 6:16 p.m. due to a conflict of interest due to her property in the Anholm area. She muted her microphone and turned off her video) Minutes – Active Transportation Committee Meeting of February 24, 2022 Page 2 ACTION: UPON MOTION BY COMMITTEE MEMBER JOUET, SECONDED BY COMMITTEE MEMBER ROBERTS, CARRIED 5-0-1 (Committee Member Martenies abstaining), recommending support for the pavement plan for the Anholm area as presented. (Committee Member Briana Martenies rejoined the meeting at 6:40 p.m.) ACTION: UPON MOTION BY COMMITTEE MEMBER DUNAWAY, SECONDED BY COMMITTEE MEMBER ROBERTS, CARRIED 6-0, recommending to proceed with the pavement plan for Area 7 as proposed, with consideration of making Cerro Romauldo a bike throughway. ACTION: UPON MOTION BY COMMITTEE MEMBER JOUET, SECONDED BY COMMITTEE MEMBER DUNAWAY, CARRIED 6-0, to support the pavement plan with the recommendation that staff pay additional attention to the Atascadero/Oceanaire/Madonna section to make that segment safer for students. ACTION: UPON MOTION BY COMMITTEE MEMBER DUNAWAY, SECONDED BY COMMITTEE MEMBER ROBERTS, CARRIED 6-0, that the committee is in agreement with the proposed plan of Marsh street that city staff presented, and should proceed with it as is. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 8:22 p.m. The next Regular Active Transportation Committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. APPROVED BY THE ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE: 03/17/2022
