Greetings SLO ARC,
PJ Novotny here, owner of 667 Upham Street, directly opposite the parcel being discussed today.
I kindly request that the ARC and property owners consider a slight aesthetic change in the proposed design.
Throughout SLO city there are several examples of what some refer to as "California mission" style architecture - see
attached photos.
Noting 2 unifying elements to this architectural style:
1) bright turquoise blue shade of window frames, doors and exposed structural elements that provide a light, colorful
accent to the building
2) the playful use of stone and brick in the chimmney and masonry
I ask kindly that the 1930's precedent of these aesthetics are fully considered as the project moves towards its final
design.
Thanks for your time,
PJ Novotny
