HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 5304 (1984 Series) Action MinutesRESOLUTION NO. 5304 (1984 Series) A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN LUIS OBISPO AUTHORIZING ACTION COUNCIL MINUTES AND ESTABLISHING PROCEDURE FOR DUPLICATION OF TAPED COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS WHEREAS, the establishment of action minutes of Council proceedings will provide a more.cost—effective form of recording official Council proceedings; WHEREAS, the retention of tapes will provide a permanent and exact wording of all actions and statements made by Councilmembers, staff and pub lic; WHEREAS, all Regular and adjourned Council meetings will be taped and the tape incorporated as part of the official minutes NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the following procedures are hereby established for the retention of Council minutes for the official record. SECTION 1. The City Clerk is authorized to provide action minutes of any Regular or Adjourned City Council meeting; at the Clerk's discretion, or upon request of any member of the Council, a more detailed recording will be made when sensitive issues, continued items or items of special historical value appear on the agenda. SECTION 2. When requested by the City Attorney, the City Clerk is authorized to hire a Court Reporter for recording and preparing a transcript of a Council meeting which considers any litigated or potential litigated issue. SECTION 3. All Regular and Adjourned Council meetings will be taped and the tape incorporated as part,of the official minutes. All tapes will be preserved in a permanent manner or as set forth in an approved Record Retention Schedule as approved by the City Council and in accordance with State Law. R 5304 �. Resolution No. 5304�9g4 Series) Page 2 SECTION 4. All Regular or Adjourned Council action minutes, tapes or transcripts shall be made available to'the-public.upon request. Copies -.-- of action minutes, tape duplicates, transcripts or the making of a transcript shall be furnished upon request to any member of the public in accordance with fee resolutions as may be adopted by the City Council. On motion of Councilman Griffin , seconded by Councilman Settle , and on the following roll call vote: AYES: Councilmembers Griffin, Settle, Dovey, Dunin and Mayor Billig NOES: None ABSENT: None the foregoing Resolution was passed and adopted this 21st day of February, 1984.
