This message is from an External Source. Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. To the SLO City Council, Now is NOT the time to plan to double the cost of parking downtown. The proposed increases are unreasonable. I understand that the pandemic slowed down revenues. The best way to handle this is to delay construction on a new parking structure. There are alternatives to going to Downtown SLO and if the rates go up (or double), then people with stop going downtown. The city has been nickle and diming people for years, first shortening free parking from 90 mins to 60 mins, then eliminating free parking on Sundays, then raising rates. It is time for this to stop.
