Hello,
I am writing as an arts lover. I am writing as a lover of downtown SLO.
I am writing hoping that the council will follow through on an opportunity to not only greatly improve
downtown but also for this council to leave a legacy as being the group that confirmed a historic ARTS district
for downtown SLO. This will make downtown not just a great downtown area...but a truly special and unique
downtown area.
Increasing parking fees is no one's favorite...but as long as there are tangible
payoffs....people...will...still...come...and long term in greater numbers.
Plus, down the road the new facilities will create even more traffic and parking fees...and the foot traffic will
lead to more business and more casual time spent plus this will lead to an even greater positive tax impact to
increase the size and reach of the next step of SLO city planning.
It's simple. Raise fees. Create a unique world class arts district. every benefits.
