Mayor and Council Members: Certainly, while no one enjoys the bombardment of price increases on everything in our lives, we cannot just stop living. That nearly happened during the last two years with COVID. So let's not choose to go down that road again. The Cultural Arts District Parking Structure project has been in the works for way too long already and a further delay will make it more unlikely to become a reality. We would encourage you to phase in the proposed increases so long as all stakeholders bear a fair share of the burden. By that we mean the Courts, Hotel San Luis Obispo, as well as restaurants, cultural venues, businesses, and yes, all the shopping lookie-loos that visit our downtown core. The old saw, if you're not moving forward, you're going backward certainly applies here. But let's be bold enough to do what is necessary for the future of our City.
