Subject:Please do NOT raise parking fees downtown

Dear City Council Members:
My husband and I met at Cal Poly back in 1963. I moved here in 1953 when I was 8 years old. My folks lived
here until their deaths in 1987 and 1992, respectively. My brother continues to live here. Though my husband
and I were away for 40 years, we got to move back in 2005. We and our children have always considered San
Luis Obispo "home."
Going downtown to eat, to shop, to go to a movie, to visit the library to get books and to volunteer in the
Genealogy Library is a regular part of our lives. We regularly use the parking structure next to the library and
the one on Marsh Street. We can always find a place to park in either of them.
Raising parking fees, especially to the levels you are proposing is WRONG. Do we really need another parking
structure? And if we do, please find some other source for funding it.
Sincerely,
Virginia "Ginger" (Hoffman) and John R. Goodell
