Dear Council,
I respectfully disagree with the proposed increase in parking charges.
While the topic isn’t relevant to my business, my office is downtown across from the Mission and I hear people outside
each day on the sidewalk continually complain about the current cost of parking.
The retailers we have in our downtown community are already fighting for business and profitability coming out of
COVID.
With the elimination of parking spaces from the creation of the “Parklets” you have been so excited about, combined
with the lack of additional parking lots, increasing the cost of parking when there is such limited parking is adding insult
to injury.
Increasing the parking rates as you are considering is bad for business and the vibrancy of our SLO Downtown. Please
vote no.
Thank you
