The loss of convenient parking is one reason. It’s impossible to run into a store for a quick errand without having to park a far distance away. It has become more confusing where to park, and where and how to pay. You have giving much of the convenient parking over to restaurant use. I am on some committees that require me to be downtown, and now it looks as if that kind of service to our community will cost twice as much, if you double the parking garage fees. Perhaps visitors from out of town or big cities will not feel the impact of these changes that we long time local residents do. Perhaps they are to whom you prefer to cater. I do know that many people who have served this city are not happy with the massive changes in the last few years. I hope that you will occasionally give more consideration to the needs of long time local residents as opposed to students and tourists. Morro Bay had very good luck with free two hour parking for many years. Even in busy times there was turn over and one could find a place to park and have enough time to have a meal and poke into the little shops. Please do not implement the parking proposal before you tonight. Thank you, Christine Mulholland 805-544-6618 1
