Re: Meeting Date 06/07/2022 item 6.a
I am a resident of Palm street living on the same block as the proposed Cultural Arts Parking Structure. I do not own or
drive a vehicle that would require parking, but I would be directly impacted by increased vehicle traffic and associated
noise and air pollution. If parking rates are going to rise, these funds should NOT go towards building another parking
structure, especially not if building costs are higher than ever. These funds should be invested in pedestrian and bike
paths and our local public transit system to hire and retain more bus drivers and increase routes from residential areas
to business areas. If these fees are collected for parking related matters, they should go to already existing lots and the
development of smart parking systems that can help monitor, moderate, and communication parking availability to the
city and to motorists.
Concerned resident,
Gray Gautereaux
