Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear SLO City Council, We can all be proud of the history of San Luis Obispo regarding its progressive stance and actions that improve the health and safety of our community and the global climate. Weren't we one if not the first town in the country to ban indoor smoking? Didn't we move to eliminate single-use plastic bags, although the pandemic and the reactionary majority on the Board of Supervisors foiled the plan. (It's time to reinstate a ban on single-use plastics!) We can and must continue to take sensible and available actions to address catastrophic climate change. The time is now to adopt a strong Clean Energy Ordinance for new buildings. Let's move away from fossil fuels by requiring new buildings to install clean electric appliances. After all, we belong to Community Choice Energy. Let's take advantage of it. Please support Resolution 11133 which states that new buildings should be all-electric, and Ordinance 1684 that requires mixed-fuel buildings be substantially higher performing than all-electric buildings and have solar installations. Let's have the courage to make the changes we can for the betterment of our community and our planet. After all, that's our responsibility as stewards of our city and the environment. Sincerely, Amy Hewes 1959 Hays Street San Luis Obispo -- __________________________________________ Amy B. Hewes 1 2
