Dear City Council,
Please add Chapter 8.10 to the City of SLO Municipal Code to ban fossil fuels in new buildings. It’s important to prevent
the expansion of fossil fuel use and infrastructure, while turning to renewable energy sources, as we set our sights on
the future. Doing so will promote renewable alternatives, inspire innovation, and help SLO and California reach its loft
climate goals. California has been an environmental leader for decades, and SLO has an opportunity to lead the charge
for environmental stewardship, making SLO, and Cal Poly, a desirable destination.
