Wilbanks, Megan From:Linda Baker <baker.linda21@gmail.com> Sent:Tuesday, July To:E-mail Council Website Subject:City Council meeting (7/5/22) item number (#5G). This message is from an External Source. Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. I urge the City Council to adopt the Right to Reproductive Freedom resolution for the city of San Luis Obispo. Anti-abortion laws discriminate against women. There is no equal protection under the law if male parents are not held similarly responsible. Women need to be able to control the direction of their lives. Children deserve to be wanted and to be born into a society that supports them with family leave, quality universal childcare, adequate adoption and fostering capability, strong educational opportunities, financial support, and the contributions/support of their male parents as well as female. Anti-abortion advocates can advocate for those things and effective and widely available contraception if they wish to diminish the need for abortions. Until those things happen, we must protect the basic right to control your own body and destiny. Linda Baker baker.linda21@gmail.com 805-459-2403 9379 Rocky Canyon Road Atascadero, Ca 93422 1
