I am writing to express my support of item #5g on the San Luis Obispo City Council agenda for the 7/5/22 meeting, the
adoption of “A Resolution of the City Council of the City of San Luis Obispo, California, Affirming Support of Reproductive
Freedom.” While California state law already protects an individual’s right to reproductive healthcare, it is nonetheless
of tremendous import that the City of San Luis Obispo explicitly recognize that right as well. Doing so will help protect
the San Luis Obispo community from the depredations of those who would seek to violate our rights and bodily
autonomy and will also let San Luis Obispo serve as an example for other communities looking to take action to protect
reproductive rights in light of overturning of Roe vs. Wade. If we do not stand up for our rights and those of others, they
will be taken away from us.
