Hello City Council,
Roe vs Wade is based on the constitutional principle that Americans are guaranteed a right of protection and privacy
from the government in their personal and private life including in their homes and personal relationships. I firmly
believe that the constitution does guarantee this protection whether it is a women’s control of her body, a gay marriage,
contraception, or sexual relationships.
In addition, one of the greatest freedoms we have and in the US is religious freedom. It is imperative we keep religious
beliefs out of politics so that citizens are supported and protected to pursue their religious beliefs without government
imposition.
The Supreme Court has done tremendous damage not only to United States citizens and their right to privacy protection
but it has also harmed human/ womens rights internationally.
In San Luis Obispo County we are especially concerned if abortion becomes illegal because District Attorney Dan Dow
and Sheriff Ian Parkinson are Evangelicals who will not hesitate to aggressively confront protesters and use the full
power of the State to arrest and prosecute women who privately choose to control their lives and end a pregnancy.
Please protect all our rights to choice, privacy, and protect our democratic foundational beliefs for the citizens of our
county our country and to stand as an example of freedom for the international community.
