Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Dear San Luis Obispo City Council, I am writing to urge you to support and adopt the Clean Energy for New Buildings program at tonight's council meeting. This action is reasonable and necessary not only as a significant, meaningful action to reduce fossil fuel use, but also to protect public health. Many people are unaware that the use of natural gas (methane) causes serious indoor air pollution that can damage human health in both the short and long terms. According to the US EPA, the effects include eye, nose and throat irritation; headaches, dizziness and fatigue; and respiratory disease, heart disease, and cancer. Many millions of people are regularly exposed to these conditions across the US and worldwide. Thank you very much for taking action to protect public health and create a more sustainable future!
