I fully support parklets in our downtown core.
In fact, I think Higuera and Monterey Streets should be closed to car traffic and become pedestrian only.
I have read that there was some resistance initially by merchants in some European cities, but after awhile, they found
their businesses did better!
I find downtown very difficult to drive through and of little benefit. Parking on the street is all but impossible.
I think parklets and a pedestrian-only downtown core would be a huge improvement.
Think of the future and go for it!
