This message is from an External Source. Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Hello, I may be little late on this, but I would like to request that the city not require all new construction to not have gas utilities. In the previous version of this rule, builders were given the option (at an additional cost to include gas utilities). The city said that they were not forcing the builders. Now the city has no counter to the argument that they are playing Big Brother. At this point there is not enough clean (or not carbon clean) electricity for the state of California. This is why rotating /rolling blackouts are expected this summer. Demand for electricity is only going to increase with more electric cars on the road and more need for air conditioning. As we strive for diversity in the city, these additional costs (increased electric utility bills) will just work to make SLO more unaffordable for anybody outside the upper levels of middle class. SLO down not NEED to be the earliest adopters of these policies. They raise costs of living and force people out of the area. Thanks, Mike Berger 1525 Laurel Ln 1
