Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Honorable Mayor and esteemed City Council: Thank you for taking the time to make additional affordable housing a priority for our City. As one who has recently lost two potential employees from out of the area because they couldn't find housing to purchase, or rent, and whose adult children (and by extension, grandchildren) struggle daily to afford to reside in the County, the ongoing discussion of our Inclusionary Housing Ordinance is one that I follow closely. While I'm gratified at many of the proposed updates to our Inclusionary Housing Ordinance, removing incentives for smaller, more affordable units, I believe, will be a flawed decision as our future housing needs become even more impacted and will lead to unforeseen consequences of not having enough of a mix of housing stock available. San Luis Obispo needs more than deed restricted affordable units which, without incentives, invariably results in a finite number available. I urge our Council to keep builder incentives for affordable housing by rewarding those willing to build smaller units. Cordially, Ron Yukelson San Luis Obispo 1
