Good Morning-
I was reading through the SLO in Motion information regarding The Cerro San Luis Greenway implementing the
“Anholm Bikeway Plan” which was developed through outreach and engagement with the community and adopted by
the City Council in September in 2018.
I remember the outreach and I remember the development. A lot of us were there. In fact in their information literature
it shows a rather packed room at the library with lots of familiar faces. One of many meetings/discussions we attended.
What was discussed was making the neighborhood safer for all. More lighting, safer curbs, traffic calming measures.
The present plan is not what we discussed, not what most of the neighborhood wants or needs.
What the neighborhood has are lots of animals that come down the mountain, cross Broad and enjoy the creek. I
wonder what this project will do to them? I was also thinking about the many birds that enjoy the area.
We all ride our bikes on these streets. The kids have been riding their bikes to school for years safely. I am afraid this
project will endanger them, not enhance their ride.
Traffic calming, safe curbs and lots more lights as we all discussed.
Spend some of the money making Foothill safe for bikes, there is your danger/liability zone.
Thank you for your time,
Connie Bruton
