I live at 2468 Gerda St., San Luis Obispo CA 93401 and fully support the staff proposal for a pedestrian crossing and the proposed additional measures. Drivers who use Johnson as a ‘cut-through’ drive entirely too fast and endanger not only pedestrians and bikers but also those of us who are turning on to Johnson via car. Due to the current safety issue, I will only rarely use Sydney to access Johnson. Thanks to the City and staff for your efforts! Please do not let any vocal naysayers sway you here, as it is 100% a safety issue for our neighborhood. The ‘cost’ on the other side is a commuter taking 10-20 seconds longer, and that’s a small price to pay for safety. All the best, Brian Greenwood 1
