Dear Mayor Stewart and Members of the Council,
I hope you will pay heed to the correspondence provided by residents of Broad and Chorro Streets and
other neighbors of this project. I was at the meeting referred to by Richard Schmidt where there was high
attendance by affected residents. A robust discussion of several alternatives occurred, and a "best
alternative" selected. Subsequently Bike SLO County (formally known as the San Luis Obispo County
Bicycle Coalition) objected and the plan was dramatically revised.
Request you delay going out to bid on the project before you.
Further request you direct staff to present a plan to you that does not require removal of much parking
from either Broad or Chorro Streets, and utilizes a route along Lincoln and West to Murray Street.
Funds saved with this revision should be used in consultation with the neighborhood's residents.
Thank you for the time and attention you give to this item.
Sincerely,
Sandra Rowley
Chairperson, RQN
