PROPERTY OWNER: 1504 BROAD STREET, SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA 93401. ADDRESS: 679 MONTEREY STREET, SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA 93401. APPLICATION NUMBER: 3113-2019 PLANS EXAMINER: JASON BERES PROJECT MANAGER: S&M FIRE PROTECTION. DATE: 02/08/2019 City records indicate that the existing building on this property is business occupancy, serviced by an existing commercial fire sprinkler system. A new residential dwelling unit has been proposed for this property, as indicated by the Site Plan referenced on the fire protection plans. Based upon this information, please address the following items: 1) The fire sprinkler system proposed to be installed for this residence has been designed per NFPA 13D standards, and it appears to be supplied by a dedicated underground fire sprinkler piping source, which also provides service to the existing commercial fire sprinkler system. Provide an underground water meter and water supply piping source that is compliant with NFPA 13D, Section A.6.2(c) Preferable Arrangement for Stand-Alone Piping Systems, or design the residential fire sprinkler system in this building to meet current NFPA 13 standards, including an underground fire line designed in accordance with City Engineering Standards No. 6530 and No. 6590. Please coordinate further with the Construction Superintendent assigned to this project, and provide revision based upon the conditions noted above. 2)Provide the test date, test location, and the name of the responsible party who provided the water supply information used in the design of this fire protection system. If available, show the location of any fire hydrants used to provide water flow test data for this system. Provide revision based upon the scope of work for this project. 3) If the residential fire sprinkler system proposed to be installed in this residence will be designed to NFPA 13D standards, then provide fire sprinkler coverage for the attic compartment in accordance with the City Municipal Code requirements. Provide revision based upon the scope of work for this project. .
