City of San Luis Obispo
MICHELLE SHORESMAN
Occupation: Appointed Incumbent Councilmember
Education and Qualifications: It has been an honor to serve as your city council member
since October 2021. 1 have worked hard every day to make out city more affordable,
sustainable, fiscally responsible, and welcoming to all.
Toward realizing those goals, I voted in support of affordable housing initiatives and expanded
broadband access for underserved neighborhoods, numerous pedestrian improvements,
bikeways, tree plantings, and the purchase of new open spaces that support our climate goals.
I also voted enthusiastically to reduce SLO's pension obligations by an unprecedented $12
million. In my 20 years of working in public health, I have consistently promoted inclusivity and
equitable access to services, and I will continue to do so as your council member.
I am running for a four-year term because there is still much work to do. Many in our community
don't feel respected or welcome; I am committed to changing that.
I share your love for this special city. You can count on me to listen carefully to all voices, to
bring people together to identify and implement workable solutions to the challenges we face
