urgency ordinance to regulate well drilling in the Paso Robles GW
Basin; discussion of Integrated Regional Water Management
program.
Tuesday, Sept. 10 Noon - Lunch meeting with Jim Famalette, COO of CAPSLO, regarding
siting of Homeless Services Center re: Possible siting at 40 Prado.
3:30 - Briefing on Donation Station parking meter program with Derek
Johnson, Community Development Director
5:00 p.m. - Friends of Prado Day Center meeting; proposal to join board
of new SLO Homeless Foundation approved (2 dissenting votes)
Wednesday, Sept. 11 1:30 p.m. - Integrated Waste Management Agency, County BOS
Chambers; discussion of potential anaerobic digester at the new
S.L. Garbage company site to process greenwaste (now transported
to Santa Maria) as well as food waste. Proposal is in the early
analytical stage. S.L. Garbage company has retained a consultant
from Seattle for this study.
3:45 p.m. - Met with advocates for SLO HOST, a new organization
advocating for an ordinance to permit and regulate primary
residence rentals for less than 30 days.
Thursday, Sept. 12 11:00 a.m. - Promotion ceremony for new Sgt. John Villanti in the Police
Department, City Council Chambers
5:30 p.m. - Retirement party for Candy Markwith, CEO of Sierra Vista

regarding parking meter donation stations - result: One parking
meter "maquette" painted gold and white (photos below)
Saturday, Sept. 14 6:00 p.m. "Catch of the Central Coast" dinner to raise funds for
Central Coast Aquarium in Avila Beach.
Sunday, Sept. 15 2:00 p.m. Retirement party for Fire Chief Charlie Hines, Los Osos
Monday, Sept. 16 5:00 p.m. Board training for CAPSLO Board to prepare for visit from
Head Start Federal Review team, CAPSLO HQ

(RMI), target date: May, 2014. Requires fund - raising commitment
of about $1.4 million, mostly from business community.
