COUNCIL LIAISON & CITY ACTIVITIES REPORT 5

OCTOBER
15 Attended the Transitions Mental Health Association Open House for their new offices and 6 on-
site housing units for clients! (corner of Nipomo and Pacific.)
16 Attended the city "Employee Tea" to celebrate annual awards of excellence,
t7 Attended Anti-discrimination and harassment training, required of all city employees.
21. Took a 2 hour Wastewater Treatment Plant tour with Howard Brewen, Water Reclamation
Manager. Very informative and interesting.
23 Attended the monthly EVC Board meeting, with a presentation regarding the Phillips 66 oil
refinery.
24 Attended the SLO Chamber of Commerce's Good Morning SLO.
- Participated in the Chamber's monthly business visitation program for city officials, visiting
Robbins Reed, and the new Serra Meadows housing project in the Margarita area.
28 Participated in an informational presentation regarding the cities, on behalf of Mayor Marx, to
the newly empanelled Grand Jury, along with City Manager Katie Lichtig.
- Dinner with the crew at Firehouse #4 on Madonna Road. No calls, but an informative visitl
29 Attended the EVC Board Orientation for new members.
- Met with Monica lrons for a general background review of city employee compensation
information and issues.
Attended the regular meeting of the Tree Committee.
Speaker at the Wednesday noon Rotary meeting.
NOVEMBER
1 Attended the annual graduation ceremonies for the Community Emergency Response Training
(CERT) program sponsored by the city Fire Department.
4 Attended meeting with city staff and ALUC (Airport Land Use Commission).
