Thank you, AW From: Richard Schmidt <slobuild@yahoo.com> Sent: Wednesday, January 26, 2022 1:16 PM To: Trees <trees@slocity.org> Subject: 64 La Entrada This message is from an External Source. Use caution when deciding to open attachments, click links, or respond. Today I noticed the tree removal application sign at 64 La Entrada for removal of the Phoenix Canariensis palm at that location. The sign indicates arborist denial of the removal request. Thank you for denying this. In the event the denial is appealed, I'd like the record to show that this is an ecologically important tree, as it is home to a long-standing owl nest. Just last year morning pedestrians could often see an owlet peeking out at passersby. Owls are important to our city ecology as controllers of rodent vermin populations. Their scarce nesting sites merit protection. Please make sure this fact about this tree is known should there be an appeal to the Tree Committee. Richard Schmidt 1
