Dear committee members.
I would like to continue to emphasize my family's and our neighborhood's active transportation priority is having
improvements at the King St crossing of South St. It is my understanding that the funding is in place and the city is
actively working on it. Communications from Luke Schwartz indicate that the timeline is:
"First phase, Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons, (similar to beacons at Broad/Upham) will go in early 2023. Second
phase, Pedestrian Hybid Beacons (similar to Broad/Woodbridge crossing) likely mid-2024"
Yay for this. We cross here multiple times a day on foot and bike to get to Hawthorne, work, and downtown. Please
keep on this and make it happen in a timely manner. Best.
