I am so pleased the City of San Luis Obispo continues to pursue its climate goals with its Climate Action Plan. I feel it's well designed and considered. I am one to search a document for my keywords, however, and I see nothing come up for "leaf" other than litter, and nothing for "blow" including "blower ". By several studies I found on the web (one gets what one looks for, agreed) leaf blowers of the hydrocarbon-powered varieties produce a significant amount of pollution and ghg, and stir up much dust and things harmful to inhale. I know the industry has interest in producing battery-powered devices, and that's a ways off with its own negative environmental issues. I wish to see our Climate Action Plan call an end to these devices specifically, and why not immediately? Brooms and rakes preceded these devices and can succeed then also. I won't belabor this note with the many references to the harmful effects of hydrocarbon-powered landscape equipment on the web, so only one is included here for your perusal: The Growing Movement to Ban Leaf Blowers earth911.com And I get out to clean the Monterey Street Bike Plaza with an electric blower, broom, dust pan, and bag. Works just fine. Thanks for all you do to serve our City! Gary Havas, not at his laptop. 805-458-0755 1 www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/19295 ?????? ?????? ??????? ??????? ?????? ?????? ???????? ????????
