We officially sent our first emails as part of our new interest-based email strategy. We have sent valuable personally-relevant emails to our Food & Drink, Events & Entertainment, and Outdoor Audiences with an immediate boost in click and open rates. As you 2 know, with our past strategy, our single newsletter to all audiences received a 30% click rate on average and 2% click rate on average over the year. We still have room to improve the types of content we are delivering as we learn more about how they interact with our emails, which we are looking forward too! We have also replaced the itinerary button on VisitSLO.com with a newsletter signup, and we’re excited to monitor how that grows our lists. Paid search drove 14,692 impressions (a 18% decrease YoY), 1,771 clicks (a 33% decrease YoY), a 12.05% CTR and 2,079 sessions (29% decrease YoY) while driving 22 Book Now Conversions, 359 hotel referrals and 45 homestay referrals at a 4% decrease in cost YoY . ● Proactively monitored and optimized paid media placements ($4,852.64 spend) ● Broke out paid search campaigns for more effective spend Email Marketing This December, we reached out to our Events & Enter tainment, Food & Drink, Family and General audiences. Even while competing for inbox attention with holiday deals and shopping, we saw strong performance—par ticularly with our Food & Drink audience and Events & Entertainment. Food & Drink Email : 54.3% open rate, 4.2% click rate (including 83 clicks to the Find a Hotel page) Events & Entertainment Email : 48% open rate, 2.4% click rate (including 12 clicks to the Find a Hotel page) Family Email : 47.1% open rate, 1.3% click rate ( Note : 1.3% = 3 clicks. This is a small segment due to overlap from other segments ) General Email: 44.5% open rate, 1.7% click rate (including 133 clicks to the Find a Hotel page) For context, with our past strategy, our single newsletter to all audiences received a 30% click rate on average and 2% click rate on average over the year. A few key learnings: 2 1. There is a lot of overlap between the Family segment and our other interests. We will likely reserve this segment moving forward for very particular touchpoints vs. regular communication. 2. Events & Entertainment and Food & Drink segments continue to be highly engaged. We also sent our re-engagement email this month to allow people to update their preferences and gauge how many inactive people are on our list. We will be sending a follow-up email to anyone who did not engage with this send before continuing with list hygiene. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) & Content Creation Organic search traffic decreased 5% period-over-period and decreased 8% year-over-year .
