Dear Mayor Stewart and Honorable Council Members Francis, Marx,
Pease and Shoresman:
This week, as you know, SLO Repertory Theatre is celebrating a year of
build a new downtown venue for live theatre.
We, the Board of Directors, are fully aware that this progress has been
possible in very large part because of your decision last year to make a
further investment in our public-private partnership, for which we are
deeply grateful.
Recovery, Resiliency & Fiscal Sustainability, and your ambitious vision to
create a thriving Cultural Arts District.
culturin your Major City Goals for the next two-year budget cycle.
We are acutely mindful of the many worthy demands on city resources,
and how expensive it is to maintain a robust physical infrastructure
paving or water security, to
name a few needs.
Also important are those things that nourish the soul and otherwise
breathe life into the physical infrastructure so that San Luis Obispo truly
offers its residents a distinctive sense of place and belonging, where
social cohesion is as obvious and tangible as a well-paved street.
In the coming years, there will undoubtedly be strategic opportunities for
you to provide a nudge here, or a boost there at key moments to enrich
your Major City Goals, everyone will be alert to opportunities for the city to
number of dollars.
Thank you for your consideration, and thank you for all that you do on
behalf of this community and the wider region.
Sincerely,
Pam Nichter
President, Board of Directors
