Among whatever Major City Goals you set, we encourage you to carve out ways to reinforce and support the kinds of things that make SLO a special place to live. Yes, it’s important to make sure our infrastructure is well maintained – roads, sidewalks, water- sewer and public safety – but please also consider the intangibles that make living here special, such as arts and culture. We were heartened by your inclusion of “arts and culture” in the Economic Recovery, Resiliency & Fiscal Sustainability goal the past two years, and encourage you to retain that focus. In our view, the arts are the yin to infrastructure’s yang. All cities have to provide those basic services, but special cities take a holistic approach and find ways to do more to enrich the community’s overall all social well being. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely, Susan & Tom Stenovec San Luis Obispo
