To City Planners and Managers:
I am writing to express support for SLO City continued implementation of the Active Transportation Plan (ATP), to
strengthen safe and effective multi-modal mobility within the area.
I would also like to see efforts to tie together a cycling network within and between new developments in the city and
county. It seems that greater impact can be achieved in the early planning stages wtih developers contributing to the cost
of (i) community park development and (ii) connecting bike paths. Davis, California is an example of this well executed
planning and development. Swimming pools and other recreational facilties can be found in their well-linked community
park system.
The absence of dedicated bike paths and facilitlies through the Costco-Home Depot development and auto row, to me,
was a big lost opportunity for community enhancement and town connectivity.
Sincerely,
Robin B Erickson
