Subject:We Need Your Help Regarding the Pismo Hillside

Members of the City Council:
My property is adjacent to the Pismo Hillside, and I’m corresponding to ask that you please fund completion of this long-
standing project.
This project has been pending for 15 years and is rightly identified as a current need. Concern has built over these years
that delaying remediation longer is in conflict with the city’s policies of prioritizing the maintenance and repair of
existing city infrastructure.
The urgency of this project cannot be overstated. The city must prepare for emergencies and potential for significant
damage from flooding, etc., and the recent rains in San Luis Obispo have added even more urgency to this mounting
safety crisis.
It’s time to move the Pismo Hillside project to the top of the city’s priority list so an even greater catastrophe can be
avoided and the safety of our neighborhood can be restored.
Thank you for your consideration.

live near the Pismo Hillside \[or, I own property near the Pismo Hillside\], and I'm writing to ask that the Council please
budget for the completion of the Pismo Hillside project, which has been in the works for 15 years and is identified as a
current need. The city's own policies of prioritizing the maintenance and repair of city infrastructure we already have,
plus the need to prepare for emergencies and prevent damages from things like floods, makes this project urgent. The

recent rains have caused major changes to the hillside (huge rock fall and earthen slumping) and it is unsafe. Fixing
the Pismo Hillside will allow for re-opening of the sidewalk and restoration of many parking spaces. It will also stop
rocks from falling again and keep the buildings near it safe.
