HomeMy WebLinkAboutRapid Deployment Camera Report 09.11.17City ofSanLuis Obispo, Police Department, 1042 Walnut Street, San Luis Obispo, CA, 93401-2729, 805.781.7317, slocity.org Date: 09/11/2017 To: City Manager Katie Lichtig From: Lieutenant Brian Amoroso via Chief Deanna Cantrell Re: Rapid Deployment Camera Tri-Annual Report Per the City Rapid Deployment Camera policy, this memorandum serves to document all camera deployments that have occurred in the City of San Luis Obispo between the dates of April 19th, 2017 and Sept 11th, 2017. From April 20th to September 7th a camera has been deployed at the end of Calle Joaquin near Alfano Motors in an effort to monitor activities near a significant construction site. From April 20th to September 7th a camera has been deployed on Fernandez Road near the Madonna Mountain trailhead to monitor the area for vehicle burglaries. These two cameras have been repositioned to Brizzolara & Nipomo and Kentucky & Bond in response to prowler reports within the city. In addition, a camera has been placed at Foothill and Crandall for start of school crowds and prowler activity. One of the cameras has suffered a wireless modem failure. This is currently being addressed and will be repaired with the assistance of the manufacturer. We expect to have this camera operational by the end of October.
