Re: Rapid Deployment Camera Tri-Annual Report
Per the City Rapid Deployment Camera policy, this memorandum serves to document all camera
deployments that have occurred in the City of San Luis Obispo between the dates of December
29th, 2016 and April 19th, 2017.
From December 29th to the present a camera has been deployed in the area of Broad & Marsh in
an effort to monitor protest activities near a significant downtown construction site. From March
1st to the present, a camera was deployed in the area of Foothill and Crandall in an effort to
monitor the area for peeping toms that have been reported in the area.
Due to the heavy rainstorms, three of our cameras suffered minor damage and are currently being
repaired by the manufacturer at their cost. We expect to have these cameras back and operational
by the end of May.
The following table accurately reflects the current locations of the POD cameras:
Camera # Current Location
SLOPD 1 Marsh & Broad
SLOPD 2 Out of Service - Repair
SLOPD 3 Hathway and Bond
SLOPD 4 Skatepark
SLOPD 5 Broad and Higuera
SLOPD 6 Out of Service - Repair
SLOPD 7 Bubblegum Alley
SLOPD 8 Out of Service - Repair
SLOPD 9 Foothill and Crandall
Respectfully Submitted,
Lieutenant Brian Amoroso
